AbstractFour volumes present materials and a training workshop on proposal writing. The materials aim to give people the skills and resources with which to translate their ideas into fully developed grant proposals for projects related to educational equity for women. However, the information is applicable to most other funding procedures. The first volume, "The Guide," is available in English and Spanish and consists of the following parts: (1) prewriting phase (developing the idea, selecting a funding source, and preparing to write); (2) proposal writing phase (rationale, plan of action, evaluation plan, management plan, budget, and putting the parts together); (3) postwriting phase (final review, submitting the proposal, and agency response and negotiations); and (4) making the project work (program structure and administration). Checklists and worksheets are included. The second volume, a supplement, contains resource information that is useful in researching and writing a proposal. Keyed to the topics in the guide, it includes resources on funding projects focusing on educational equity for women, sources of background and research data on women, and samples of each proposal component. The third volume, consisting of three successful proposals and reviewer comments, can be used as a model for a fully developed proposal. The fourth volume is a training manual consisting of a 2-day workshop agenda, 13 lesson plans, handouts, and worksheets. Each lesson plan includes purpose, time required, materials needed, and a detailed sample narrative that is annotated with tips for trainers. (SV)
