Abstract | The aim of the Texas model articulation programs, commonly 2 years of postsecondary instruction. This "how-to" manual for 2+2 2 year of postsecondary instruction. This 'how-to" manual for 2+2 Agricultural Occupations provides secondary students with the opportunity to develop saleable skills upon completion of the first 2 years of competency-based curriculum. The curriculum includes occupationally specific courses, general academic courses, and workplace competencies. The first three sections outline the rationale behind the 2+2 program and the needs assessment that determined its curricula, and provide a list of the advisory committee members. Other sections deal with developing the curriculum; basic course outlines; instructor qualifications; program/curriculum; the makeup and selection of the 2+2 development and implementation staff; student follow-up, the articulation agreements process, and evaluation. Two appendices provide 2+2 user's group definitions and 2+2 agriculture curriculum examples. The 10 examples provided form half of this document; they are: sample duty and task list for agriculture 2+2 programs; description of the occupation and basic objective of the curriculum; secondary to postsecondary flowchart; recommended student prerequisites; sample basic agricultural course outlines; sample reference materials; sample line drawing of recommended facilities; sample tools and equipment; sample competency profile; and sample articulation agreement.
