Abstract | This introductory module on drafting includes the technical content and tasks necessary for a student to be employed in an entry-level drafting occupation. The module contains 18 instructional units that cover the following topics: introduction to drafting; tools and equipment; supplies and materials; sketching; scales; drawing format; lettering; lines; reproduction; geometric constructions; orthographic views; auxiliary views; sectional views; axonometrics; obliques; perspectives; dimensioning; and tolerancing. Each instructional unit follows a standard format that includes some or all of these eight basic components: performance objectives, suggested activities for teachers and students, information sheets, assignment sheets, job sheets, visual aids, tests and answers to tests, and assignment sheets. All of the unit components focus on measurable and observable learning outcomes and are designed to be used for more than one lesson or class period. A list of tools, materials, and equipment; 37 references; and instructional/task analyses are also included. (KC) |
