Abstract | Four cameos that have important educational implications for Australia in the 21st century are presented. The first cameo discusses the concept of one world, emphasizing the United Nations' report "Our Common Future" by the World Commission on the Environment and Development. Second, discussed is the answer to the question: What is Australia's place in the world? Next, the educator's responsibility for the 21st century is analyzed. Educators need to take note that their profession and the ways in which it is organized are undergoing a remarkable transformation. The paper ends with comments from a child delving into the psyche of the "future's" child. Appended are 37 references. (SI) |
