Abstract	This guide is a catalog of adult education English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) materials, covering literacy, citizenship, and life-coping skills. It is intended to serve the needs of adult education ESL instructors and supervisors. The catalog is organized in three sections. Section I consists of evaluations of 27 instructional systems. Information is given on lesson format, content, components, and overall evaluation. Section II contains evaluations of 148 supplementary instructional materials. Each evaluation includes a checklist of skills and general information and a narrative section describing the lesson format, content, and overall evaluation. A one-page checklist for each title reviews 18 separate aspects of the materials. Field test information for the materials that were field tested is supplied following the evaluation of the specific title. Section III contains appendixes that include: (1) lists of publishers and addresses; (2) video teacher training programs; (3) video and computer instructional programs; (4) citizenship materials; (5) ESL testing materials; and (6) an outline of native language literacy.
