| Abstract | This directory is intended to describe the nature and structure of the university and college courses that typically train counselors to use labor market and career information with their clients. The course descriptions included in the directory were identified during a national study during which 424 institutions reported offering a total of 648 courses devoted to training counselors in how to use the various sources of career and labor market information available. The course descriptions are arranged by state. Each course description contains the following information: state; institution name and address; department chairperson; course title, type, and level; primary focus; client target groups; approximate number of persons in attendance during an average year; and name and address of instructor. The guide includes descriptions of 93 seminars, 63 special classes, 538 ongoing classes, and 12 off-campus courses. Of these, 80 are on the undergraduate level, 334 are graduate-level courses, and 14 offer continuing education units. The courses' target client groups include vocational rehabilitation, elementary/secondary counselors, military recruiters/education specialists, postsecondary counselors, employment training agencies, and employment services.
