Abstract	This resource provides supplementary materials on coping skills for success in balancing work and family responsibilities for use in competency-based programs. Twenty modules are divided into six areas dealing with individual growth and development and one area dealing with child development. The six individual growth and development areas (and module topics) are (1) manage and organize (life plan development, factors that influence personal interactions and goal setting), (2) ensure health and safety (self-fulfillment, impact of individual needs, family strengths, the family life cycle), (3) ensure health and safety (reduction of personal stress), (4) maximize resources (community resources, use of resources to achieve personal goals, choice of child care providers), (5) interact with others (communication skills, interaction skills), and (6) cope with change (impact of family and career changes on individuals, role expectations, coping skills, family philosophy regarding role sharing, communication about role expectations, multiple roles of working couples). The child development topic is meet basic needs (developmental characteristics of children, discipline). Contents of each module include the competency/skill, performance objective, student learning objectives, student learning activities, and evaluation activities. Any necessary handouts are provided.
