Abstract	The Asian Network for Biological Sciences (ANBS) is a group of institutions, laboratories, research centers, and scholars who are willing to cooperate in programs and activities aimed at improving teaching and research in the biological sciences. This publication: (1) outlines ANBS aims and objectives; (2) describes major activities in the past; (3) lists programs for 1986 onwards; (4) lists ANBS council members (1983-1986) and International Biological Network steering committee members; and (4) provides a list of relevant publications and those that are in press. Included in 11 appendices are the covers and/or tables of contents for several publications (including conference proceedings). They include "Bioscience Education in Developing Countries"; "Tissue Culture of Economically Important Plants"; "Plant Viruses and Mycoplasmas"; "Proceedings of the Seminar Scientific Approach to Traditional Medicine"; "Proceedings of the Symposium on Research in Biology and Biotechnology in Developing Countries"; and "Teaching Science Out-of-School with Special Reference to Biology."
