| Abstract | The 13 modules for an adaptive physical education program contained in this document provide a comprehensive teacher-training program which includes methods and materials for classroom teachers who have little or no background in the area of physical education and adaptive physical education. The activities in the curriculum are appropriate for the mentally retarded, physically handicapped, neurologically impaired, and emotionally handicapped. Each module contains specific behavioral objectives, activities and variations on activities, suggestions for the teacher, and points to be considered in evaluating pupil progress. Directions are given for pre-post testing, inter-module correlation, reassessment and record keeping, and equipment needed. (JD) |
