Abstract | This curriculum guide provides examples of activities a teacher at the primary level can use for any phase of career education being studied. Activities are listed under each of the eight elements of career education: (1) Self Awareness, (2) Educational Awareness, (3) Career Awareness, (4) Economic Awareness, (5) Decision Making, (6) Beginning Competency, (7) Employability Skills, and (8) Attitudes and Appreciations. At the beginning of each element's activity section are listed the concepts to be stressed. Activities specific to each of the concepts are then described. Copies of materials, transparency masters, and so forth, are provided as necessary. An appendix contains job clusters for 15 areas with the occupations categorized by level of education required. Directons for games to make and play are also provided. A final section on resources provides general suggestions for resources and student activities and lists of study prints and posters, films, kits and games, cassettes, filmstrips, and suggested student reading.
