Abstract	This two part transcript of a public radio broadcast deals with the topic of teacher burnout. Numerous personal interviews were conducted with teachers in order to understand the causes behind this problem from the vantage point of their personal experiences. A young teacher in a ghetto school relates his experiences. Another teacher cites the administration's apathy as her main frustration with teaching. Other teachers cite student apathy as a causative factor in their frustration. Some of the symptoms of teacher burnout are fatigue, frustration, and anger. Teachers need to engage in strict self management in order to tolerate the stress that is associated with the job. Today, some teachers are trying to alleviate the problem with workshops on teacher burnout. They learn self help by talking and engaging in exercises and games which produce a better understanding of assertiveness. (JN)
