| Abstract | This conference report explores microelectronic technology, its effect on educational methods and objectives, and its implications for educator responsibilities. Two main areas were considered: the significance of the likely impact of the large scale introduction of microprocessors and microelectronics on commercial and industrial processes, the likely changes in society, and opportunities and dangers for the future; and the implications of the effect of microprocessors and microelectronics on the educational process with particular reference to content, attitudes, skills, concepts, and educational methods. A state of the art address opened the meeting, followed by presentations on the relationship of these technologies to teaching methods, and on their effects upon publishing. Discussion groups considered the effects on school curricula, educational responsibilities for an employment environment affected by microtechnology, and the potential of microprocessors for independent and interactive learning.
