AbstractBased on the New York State homemaking-family living curriculum, this document presents sample modules appropriate for instructional levels III, IV, and V (grades 9-12) for each of the content emphases in the human development subject area. These content emphases include management, buymanship, leisure, career, health/safety, and relationships. Each module contains the following elements: learning outcome; behavioral outcomes; suggested learning experiences; suggested measurement of student progress; and related module titles. The modules are arranged by instructional level, and a chart presenting the scope of learnings covered by the modules precede each instructional level group. In all, sixty sample modules are included in this document. These modules can be used as they are for instruction, can be adapted to fit the local situation, or can be used as models for producing other modules. Guidelines for evaluating and editing home economics modules are appended. (A related document, ED 140 069, describes the total New York State homemaking-family living curriculum design for grades 9-12 and contains two sample courses to serve as models: one with a subject area focus and one with a content emphasis focus. Curriculum guidelines and sample modules for grades 5-8 are available in a separate document, CE 017 853.) (BM)
