Abstract	Part of a larger study evaluating both domestic and foreign development services, this compendium contains factual data on both voluntary and obligatory services obtained during field surveys. The 30 individual programs are described under the following categories: training and employment schemes (national youth service types) for uneducated youth, study-services for students in educational institutions, social and technical development services (community volunteer services) for educated youth and/or experienced adults, combined development services consisting of programs combining two or more of the other categories, bilateral foreign volunteer services for educated and skilled volunteers serving abroad on the basis of specific assistance requests, and multinational foreign volunteer service - United National Volunteers. For each of the specific services listed, the following data is presented, without evaluation: institutional information (establishment, type of service, administrative framework); reasons, needs, objectives; programs (training and work programs and foreign assistance given to domestic development services in Asia, Africa, and Latin America); people involved (volunteers, staff, directors); organization and budget; linkages with other institutions and public participation; and achievements.
