| Abstract | This publication is an Israel National Report prepared for the United Nations Conference on Environmental Education. It presents the following information: (1) The Environment in Israel; (2) Environmental Education (Formal and Non-Formal); and (3) Public Involvement (Government and Public Organizations, Special Events). There are two appendices, one listing the environmental films produced in Israel and the other listing Universities and Research Institutes, Public Organizations, and the Ministry of Education and Culture in Israel. Environmental Education is aimed at the public at large, at policy and decision makers, and at the training of professional manpower. This report concentrates on those activities that have contributed to a growing awareness of the Israel public for environmental issues. (MA) |
