Abstract	One of a series of bibliographies prepared by research Functional Networks for the Southern Rural Development Center, this bibliography of literature on rural development program evaluation consists of substantially more than 500 citations, the majority works of the 60's and 70's. Drawn from an earlier simple listing of more than 1,500 entries, this publication narrows citations to those most relevant for the rural development program evaluator. Specific attention is given to evaluation of rural development programs noneconomic in nature--those designed to raise overall quality of life, level of living, life satisfaction, knowledge, and acquisition of leadership and decision-making skills by rural residents. An annotated section of more than 200 entries is divided into 6 major categories: major sources (particular emphasis on evaluation, criteria setting (with numerous evaluation models and critiques of models), strategies of evaluation--methodology, evaluative research and the evaluator's responsibilities (including politics and ethics of evaluation), and an unannotated research in progress. The second section lists additional references categorized in a similar fashion and with addition of a category for case studies under strategies for evaluation. (RS)
