| Abstract | This paper addresses five aspects of educational planning, summarizing recent trends in theories, models, and strategies that apply to planning at the national level. Individual chapters focus in turn on 1) issues and problem areas addressed by planning, 2) planning models in use, 3) nonformal education as a focus of planning, 4) indicators of educational outcomes, and 5) planning processes yielding strategies and social action. The author considers these topics sequentially, reviewing the research literature relevant to each without a great deal of elaboration or critical commentary. Recurrent themes and major unresolved issues are briefly summarized, however, in the final chapter. An extensive bibliography is contained in the appendix. (Author/JG) |
