Abstract | Research into the area of assessment of post-secondary demand by Manitoba high school students began in 1971, when a sudden drop in the increase rate of post-secondary enrollment was observed. This report is one of a series that has been published based on the high school demand studies. Earlier reports were largely statistical in nature, and presented profile information on Manitoba high school students for each of the years 1971-72 and 1975-76. This report provides more comprehensive information on the plans and profile characteristics of the 1976-77 twelfth grade students. It is presented in a more descriptive manner than the previous one, so as to be easily accessible to teachers and administrators. Chapters include: (1) summary and highlights of findings; (2) methodology; (3) background statistics; (4) plans for the future; (5) influences on decisions; (6) educational aspirations; and (7) regional analysis.
