| Abstract | This publication presents a comprehensive education plan for the Lanier County (Georgia) Public Schools that was developed between August 1974 and February 1975 by a school-community task force. The comprehensive plan consists of ten components, each planned and presented in a logical sequence. The first major stage of the plan, which defines the desired educational program and presents supportive data and rationale, includes the first five components: 1) establishing an educational philosophy reflective of the county's citizens, 2) defining students' needs and interests, 3) establishing broad program goals, 4) determining the current status and needs of the educational program, and 5) formulating educational objectives. The second stage, which identifies the desired program of action and the resources required to implement it, includes the second five components: 6) defining broad program concepts, 7) identifying activities to achieve the objectives, 8) identifying specific program and management needs for implementing the activities, 9) evaluating the results of the activities, and 10) disseminating information to the school community.
