Abstract | The document describes an exemplary project from January 1, 1973 to December 31, 1974 in which 21 postsecondary cook/chef students were afforded the opportunity to spend six months in a training experience in Switzerland. The project, coordinated through the Swiss Hotel Association, was intended to provide a basis for sharing information with the food industry, especially in Monnesota. All participants reported that the program contributed to their growth. Language and cultural adjustment were seen as the biggest handicaps which were encountered most frequently at the beginning of the experience. Appended materials, making up the bulk of the document, include: list of participants, forms, correspondence, travel tips, metrics in the kitchen, and a program evaluation form. (LJ) |
