AbstractThese hearings on school busing are comprised of the testimony of a number of U.S. Senators, Representatives, school board members, and representatives from civil rights organizations. "Material for the Record" consists of prepared statements, letters, and newspaper and periodical articles. The full texts of bills on busing, numbers S.179, S.287, S.619, S.1737, and S.2336, all enacted by the 93rd Congress, are also reprinted here. In addition are appended statements and letters from Congressmen, school board members, and others, and judicial decisions and briefs relating to the following: Amicus Curiae brief for the Classroom Teachers' Association of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System; Brown vs. Board of Education; Green vs. County School Board of New Kent County, Va.; Ex parte William H. McCardle; and, Swann vs. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education. (RJ)
