Abstract | A model for evaluating the professional activities of high school teachers is presented. It is based on: (1) a systematic process for reporting their activities; (2) discrepancy evaluation--the comparison of goals and objectives with outcomes; and (3) product rather than process evaluation. Teacher activity in nine categories is assessed--teaching, curriculum, school-related activities, student interactions, administration, service, professional growth, student evaluation, and test evaluation. The ten steps involved in the evaluation are described. The evaluation forms are included. An appendix contains a sample contract for implementing the discrepancy evaluation models and a list of job targets. (For related documents, see TM 003 216-217.) (KM) |
