Abstract | This syllabus for a one-semester course in economics for high school seniors focuses on six topics: 1) The Nature of Economic Understanding; 2) The Market System; 3) The Role of Government; 4) Economic Growth and Stability; 5) The United States Economy in the World; and 6) Comparative Economic Systems. A general overview presents a rationale for the course. This is followed by the main body of the guide: understandings and related content. For each topic, optional special studies, designed as case studies or models, are suggested. A tentative flow chart of the social studies program (K-12) in New York State is included. (SHM) |
