Abstract	This study documents the revenue and expenditure patterns for categories of school districts and for individual school districts. The fiscal impact of the current system, the nature and extent of fiscal disparities, and the factors that contribute to the disparities are examined. An attempt is made to distinguish between disparities among districts in educational resources and services and disparities in prices or wages for equivalent levels of service. Data from all school districts of the State are analyzed for the school year 1971-72. Also, since by the legislature in October 1971 there was a major change in the Minnesota system of financing education, data for the school year 1971-72 are compared with that of the previous year to determine the impact of the new legislation. Although fiscal 1972 was a transitional year, the analysis gives an indication of the relative magnitude of the legislative changes on the various districts. (Author/DN)
