Abstract | This brief outline of areas of vocational education important for the educable mentally handicapped notes the following general areas which have implications for curriculum development: (1) psychomotor skills, (2) social development, and (3) community and job-related competencies. Educational needs for vocational training and program development for the retarded are discussed. Possible activities for developing psychomotor functions are listed, as one example of work aptitudes necessary for the retarded.
