Abstract	Adult teaching and learning is a suggested course of study which emphasizes teacher behavior in relation to adult learning. In the development of the syllabus for this course, a considerable amount of time was spent using the curriculum development process described by Ralph Tyler. A broad range of concepts and behavior patterns were identified in the literature. Those concepts and behaviors which occurred most frequently were included in the course of study. The syllabus was designed to allow maximum flexibility in a course of study. The significance of each area of study was presented for the purpose of helping the instructor understand why the concept or behavior should receive consideration. The behavioral objectives were developed for the expressed purpose of providing direction to the process of changing the behaviors of the teachers of adults. The suggested areas to study contain the concepts and behaviors pertaining to adult teaching and learning which appear necessary to the achievement of the stated objectives. A variety of learning experiences have been suggested so that the teachers of adults will have an opportunity to achieve the behavioral objectives. Effective evaluation is needed to determine how well one is succeeding in achieving the objectives. A number of ways have been suggested to evaluate the behavioral objectives.
