| Abstract | This study was undertaken to show why area vocational education programs should be developed at both secondary and postsecondary levels and to develop a model for organizational and curricular patterns for vocational education at the local level. Empirical data were analyzed to show the need for vocational education in Michigan, and a philosophical basis for area programs was developed, along with implications for Michigan. Costs and minimum enrollments were projected to justify an area vocational education program for Michigan. Models were developed for curriculums and organizational patterns on an area basis.
