| Abstract | The 1970 annual report on the Oregon Migrant Health Project discusses health services for migrant agricultural workers and their families (approximately 30,000 individuals) who worked and lived temporarily in various Oregon counties. As noted, some 9,000 of the 30,000 migrants were estimated to be in need of some type of medical service. Thus, the basic objective involved providing migrants with acceptable and accessible medical and dental care, hospitalization, and preventive health services with the existing resources. Results presented in the document are divided into categories: medical services, hospital services, dental services, nursing services, sanitation services, health education services, and long- and short-term goals for improved nutrition. Statistics are given for 12 project counties, along with discussions of efforts made to attain project objectives. The report notes that the greatest need for funds related to dental care, eye-glasses, hospitalization, and inpatient physician's fees. (AN) |
