Abstract | The major purpose of this paper is to describe and analyze the formation of a new structure of authority and the process of change from capitalist oligarchy to pluralistic collectivism--an aspect of political development. A case study is based upon interviews with 12 informants who were involved in the seizure of a large farm from its owner. The study contrasts the attitudes of landowner and peasants and how these changed through the influences of the radio, newspaper, and political parties. (RL) |
