Abstract | The Central California Action Associates, Inc. (CCAA Inc.) was funded under the Migrant Division of the Office of Economic Opportunity to help farm workers solve their problems. The 7-county area has been characterized by high agricultural wealth and a low wage scale when compared to the surrounding cosmopolitan areas. The minimal education level of the farm workers excludes them from better jobs. The goal of the CCAA Inc. program is to provide the means through basic education and pre-vocational training whereby migrants and seasonal adult farm workers in the participating counties will be able to upgrade their economic and social lives. The 3 components of CCAA Inc. are administration, education, and vocational placement. Each division is explained as to present and future functions. (LS) |
