Abstract | This study resulted from one of the recommendations of the 1963 Thai-USOM Task Force report, "Preliminary Assessment of Education and Human Resources in Thailand." (See AL 002 475.) It was felt that an intensive study should be made of Thai secondary education, both vocational and academic, with special reference to manpower needs. The study's major purpose was "to determine the extent to which the educational system is geared to meet the current and projected human resource development needs of Thailand." Human resources development was taken to mean "the total intellectual, emotional, and social, as well as vocational preparation of Thai youth." This document is a digest, in Thai and English, of the findings of the study. It is divided into three sections: (1) The Social Setting and Current Status of Thai Secondary Education, (2) Manpower Assessment and Enrollment Projections, and (3) Summary of Recommendations. The manpower analysis contained in this study is limited to the civilian labor force. For related documents see AL 002 472 and 474. (JD) |
