Abstract	Most of the material in this handbook is a general statement of trusteeship as it applies to public libraries. For libraries in first class cities, under city manager jurisdiction, or in counties or regional classifications, deviation from the general case can be expected, and in some cases these differences are noted. The handbook begins with a broad general view of trusteeship which is followed by a listing of the particular facets of the job, and it concludes with a more thorough discussion of each phase. Appendixes include sample bylaws for individual libraries, the Library Bill of Rights, and a bibliography of 16 items on the subject. (Author/JB)
