Abstract | Participants in an airborne seminar were teams of individuals from sixteen institutions engaged in the early stages of planning and design. Novel and exciting features of each of the nineteen institutions visited during the "fly-in" were noted. A brief summary of the unique architectural features and facilities in each institution is given, some highlights being high-rise facilities, a specialized auditorium with modeling ramps, computer equipment, flexible facilities, an exposed concrete interior, brick construction, honeycomb design, study carrels distributed throughout corridors, an airwell, a courtyard-effect lounge, a converted department store college, an automatic library system, an open library community service center, and rooftop recreational spaces.
