Abstract | A REPORT WAS MADE OF A 3-DAY WORKING CONFERENCE ON STRATEGIES FOR EDUCATIONAL CHANGE. EIGHT PAPERS ON THE ASPECTS OF PLANNED EDUCATIONAL CHANGE WERE COMMISSIONED AND PRESENTED AT THE CONFERENCE. THE CONFERENCE ALSO DISCUSSED EXISTING RESEACH FINDINGS AND CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORKS RELATING TO CHANGE IN EDUCATION AND OTHER SOCIAL PROCESS FIELDS. IN ADDITION, NINE CONFERENCE NEWSLETTERS APPEARING ON A MONTHLY BASIS HELPED TO DISSEMINATE THE FINDINGS OF THE CONFERENCE. THE NEED FOR A WELL-DEFINED AND PROPERLY DIFFERENTIATED TAXONOMY WAS GENERALLY FELT. DETAILED DISCUSSIONS OF EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY, INNOVATION, RESOURCES, TRENDS, POLICY, AND ROLES WERE PRESENTED. FOUR MODELS FOR UNDERSTANDING EDUCATIONAL CHANGE WERE SUBMITTED AND DISCUSSED. IT WAS PROPOSED THAT A SELECTIVE AND CONTINUING SEMINAR BE INSTITUTED TO WHICH RESEARCH PAPERS MIGHT BE SUBMITTED AND THEN DISSEMINATED, UNENCUMBERED BY THE TIME RESTRICTIONS OF A REGULAR CONFERENCE.
