This article presents the case study method as a common instrument of management education. Possible advantages and disadvantages of its use are pointed out and frequently utilized patterns of theoretical justification are stated. A look at the state of research on the use of the case study method reveals the lack of empirical foundations of this methodology. A conclusion is made which points out a desideratum in the field of use of the case method in management education. (zhb/text adopted). |
