Abstract	Since the initiation of the Schumann plan the education and VET policy aim at growth and prosperity and pursues this with the four freedoms of the "aquis communitaire". VET has been an essential element in the process of integration because of the interface function for the socio-economical development. From the very beginning, the process of integration was characterized through a huge heterogeneity of the different educational systems and antagonistic constitutional interests. Since the summit in Lisbon the process of integration has experienced a remarkable dynamic impulse in the field of VET, therefore it is now important that all member states accomplish future challenges with new instruments (EQR and ECVET).
