Higher education institutions and higher education policy focus increasingly on employability of graduates and the labour market relevance of programmes. The three contributions by Rodenstock, Grüske and Schweiger analyse the role and meaning of information about graduates from a business perspective, from the perspective of universities and from that of universities of applied sciences, respectively. Randolf Rodenstock accentuates the international dimension of competition and points out important areas of intervention, first in the newly introduced Bachelor and Master programmes, second in engineering and sciences. Karl-Dieter Grüske and Gunter Schweiger exemplify how information about graduates can be used for profile development and outline the information needs of higher education. (IHF). |
