Reflecting economical tendencies in Social Work the article focuses on a new Vision of emancipation that understands itself in the tradition of empowerment and se organization. Practise will be discussed as a method of supporting people to develop their own coping of problems. Therefore it is necessary for these persons to uncover the boundaries of life by them selves. The openness of Human Development and the idea of a Good Life are the main issues. The article is also based upon the theories of Paulo Freire and a concept of human life that is transporting the philosophy of enlightenment and modernity. The aim of this discussion is to enforce a debate in Social Work theory in the sense of enlightenment reviewing the contemporary tendencies of system theory and economy in which the concept of an autonomous subject is weakening. |
