Abstract | As part of the Luxembourg/Ville Européenne de la Culture programme, the first Saarland-Lorraine-Luxembourg Young People´s Theatre Festival was held in October 1995 in Luxembourg. [...] Despite the geographical proximity of the three regions (countries) involved, their differences are enormous from many points of view: cultural, academic, administrative... Without the personal commitment of all partners involved in the project and financial assistance from the European Commission, the Festival could never have taken place. [...] Gathered together at a single location for the first three days, the members of eight school drama clubs from the three regions collaborated in professionally run workshops, took part in a show and enjoyed a professional performance presented each evening by a company from one of the three regions in turn.
