Abstract | The deterioration of the Alsace dialect, and the insuffficiency of the means put at the disposal of early French language learning in Germany and Switzerland, the absence of transferability in exchanges between young people, the reality of indifference to others, have all brought about previously unknown barriers between the three countries of the Upper Rhine region. Solutions had to be found regarding the question: How can we create a feeling of belonging to this common area by educating the children of Alsace, Baden-Württemberg, Südpfalz, The Cantons of Basel- Stadt, Basel-Land, Aargau, Solothurn and the Jura in the common historical, geological, geographical, economic, linguistic, and sociocultural heritage, as well as in the specific characteristics of each region, and foster the emergence of European citizenship?
