Abstract | The aim of this article is to discuss Swedish education governance in relation to local stakeholders. The transformation of Swedish education politics and governance during the last thirty years is described. The present model of education governance is analyzed and discussed on the basis of results from the EGSIE project and an ongoing research project on changed time governance. The efforts of the state to govern through fostering self-governing schools and teachers are emphasized. (ERIC). |
