Abstract | The goals of school desegregation are improved race-relations, minority academic achievement, self-esteem and motivation, and improved minority life chances. Important strategies to achieve these goals are organizing classrooms in a cooperative manner and giving minority students the opportunity to be in status positions that are superior to Whites.
