Abstract | As the conversation across the country progresses towards diversity and decolonisation of the curriculum, it is important to consider the many ways of demonstrating recognition of diversity. At Harris Garrard Academy in southeast London, educators have gone to great lengths to increase the visibility of race and ethnicity in the curriculum, through initiatives such as the 'diverse readers' programme. However, it was quickly recognised that there was a dearth of visibility of the LGBT+ community. In this article, the author discusses the importance of making LGBT+ diversity visible and how science can be the context. (ERIC). |
