Abstract"Minority-Han unified education" has already made some progress in the reform and practice of higher education in Xinjiang and accumulated precious experience. But presently minority-Han unified education in Xinjiang higher education institutions is still stuck in the trial stage in which there are many Han students and few minority students and a balanced coordination of many special policies, and a minority-Han unified education model has still not formed in a true sense. On the other hand, on the whole, minority students have relatively weak ability in using the nation's common language and their foundational knowledge and students of all ethnicities have diverse cultural backgrounds, therefore in minority-Han educational practice in the past few years there have been contrasts and conflicts between the positive hard work, enthusiasm for study, and tireless persistence of minority students and the many difficulties and less than ideal study results in practice.
