Abstract	Paraprofessionals play an important role in the education of young children with, or at risk for, disabilities. Yet, because few training programs sufficiently infuse content related to serving special needs infants and toddlers, paraprofessionals typically lack the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to address effectively the requirements of this population. The article describes how a program designed to prepare urban ECE paraprofessionals was modified to ensure preparation of individuals equipped to deliver high quality services to young children with diverse abilities and characteristics. The program improvement process was supported by funding from the USDOE Office of Special Education Programs and by technical assistance from the Monarch Center. (As Provided).
