Abstract | This Spanish- and Portuguese-language bulletin presents articles focusing on early childhood and elementary-age initiatives in which the children play a more active role than the usual model of teachers/adult project leaders taking the lead and the children following their directions. Each article covers a distinct project, thus examining the participation of children from different angles. The two articles about listening, "Listening Is the Key" and "Listening to the Littlest Ones" cover two research projects that focus on childrens participation as sources of communication rather than just receivers. The articles are as follows: (1) "Childhood Participation: Educational and Developmental Tool"; (2) "Rights in My Size: Citizens from Preschool On"; (3) "The Participation of Children"; (4) "The Media: A Thread for Connecting and Giving a Voice to the Expressions of Children and Young People"; (5) "'Child to Child': A Model of Practice in Nicaragua"; (6) "Listening Is the Key"; (7) "Listening to the Littlest Ones." The bulletin concludes with a list of relevant resources and a call for entries in the Bernard van Leer Foundation Poster contest. (BH) |
