| Abstract | An overview of the type and amount of grants provided by Alberta Education for basic education is presented in this report. Following a description of Alberta school jurisdiction revenues, the purpose and amounts granted to each of the following programs are described: the School Foundation Program Fund; the Fiscal Equity Program; special education programs; student program grants; general education grants; early childhood services; private schools; and the Teachers' Retirement Fund. Two charts and a list of the regional offices of education are included. The appendix provides a comparison of the department's financial assistance to schools for the years 1983-84 through 1991-92.
