| Abstract | This two-volume resource guide to the major employers of Indiana County, Pennsylvania, serves as a model for similar guides that could be replicated. The guidance staff of the local school district visited the firms and surveyed them on five points: (1) a description of the firm and the nature of its work; (2) training, other qualifications, and advancement; (3) employment outlook; (4) earnings and working conditions; and (5) other information of interest to the local school district students. Additional information in the appendices supplies a sample Pennsylvania state employment application and civil service performance evaluation report, and a community audit by the electric company provides a detailed regional labor market analysis with additional facts and civic data.
