Abstract | Explored with 30 parents of preschool children who demonstrated behavior problems and the teachers who worked with the parents was a method of intervention that demanded limited staff time and provided a systematic approach to counseling parents. Findings suggested the feasibility of using classroom teachers as parent counselors when trained in the use of a systematic behavior recording approach; gave evidence of an effective training procedure requiring less than 2 hours; and demonstrated that parents, when trained and given appropriate feedback from the teacher, can modify their own and their children's behavior without direct and ongoing supervision from a behavior specialist.
