AbstractThis handbook on coaching football was written specifically with Georgia football coaches in mind, and references to the Georgia High School Association Constitution and By-Laws are made frequently. Six major areas of a coach's duties are covered: (1) the qualifications of the coach, coaching philosophy and objectives, and a code of ethics for coaches; (2) the coach and interactions with school personnel; (3) the coach's relationship with the student body; (4) public relations and the coach; (5) the coach and his relations with members of the football team; and (6) the coach's administrative responsibilities. Sample forms for use of a coach in expediting his obligations are appended, and a bibliography is included. (JD)
